PHPObject is an open source alternative to Flash Remoting for PHP developers. With PHPObject, users can call a method of a PHP class/library on a Web server as if the class/library was defined in Flash itself. It takes care of client-server connections and makes passing of variables (properties) between Flash MX and PHP easy, and thereby providing a convenient way to connect rich media clients with data and business logic residing on a server. The library, together with a WebServicesConnectivityAddOn, also allows developers to easily consume Web services from within Flash MX.

Floogle MX is a Flash application based on the Google Web Service. This allows for dynamic searches of Google from within your own site. Use's Nusoap, a set of PHP class's for creating and consuming web services. This application is a great way to get started with using web services and Soap. Also a great tool and feature for Any site. It is possible to use the same script (and Nusoap) for an html version as well (with a little modification). We will try to post a Flash 5 version in the near future. This version uses Flash MX (6).

This application is a free download (including FLA) that should prove a useful example (code and notes) and learning experience on how to integrate Flash with a Web Service - using PHP and SOAP. A useful application and great addition to any site wanting to allow their visitors to convert between currency's.

A simple interface for displaying real time stock quotes in Flash. Uses a service from Yahoo that provides stock information in CSV format. PHP is used to parse the CSV file and format it for use with Flash.
