The Flatfile package is designed to be a simple, light method of storing and retrieving data in tables with SQL-like features. All data is stored in tab-delimited text flat files.
It supports a very powerful and extensible WHERE clause mechanism, which can be used with SELECT, UPDATE or DELETE statements. It can do ORDER BY on any number of fields, and includes full documentation with examples that should have you up and running in a couple of minutes.

DaDaBIK is a PHP application that allows you to easily create a highly customizable front-end for a database. The strength of DaDaBIK lies in its ability of customization. For each field of a table you can choose: if the field should be included or not in the search/insert/update form; the form label; the content of the field; the input type; the possible values, also driven from another table. Other features: files uploading, checking for possible duplication during an insert, authentication and authorization restrictions on view/update/delete, customizable graphic layout to enable embedding of the forms in your own site, export to CSV, e-mail notices, table aliases.
DaDaBIK uses the ADOdb Database Abstraction Library in order to support as many DBMS as possible, at the moment it has been tested on MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle and MS SQL Server.
It's available in several languages.
This class is a MySQL database access wrapper. It can:
- Connect to a MySQL server
- Execute SQL queries and retrieve single value results or return result rows into arrays
- Return the last inserted table row identifier, the number of result rows and the number of affected rows
- Count the number of executed queries
- Lock and unlock tables
- Escape text literal values or like patterns
- Retrieve database access errors
txtSQL (pronounced "text-sequel") is a class containing a variety of functions designed to mimic a database system, using only regular text files. It is object-oriented and can be looked at as sort of a framework in creating larger scripts (such as guestbooks, polls, forums etc.) There are two levels of access; a low-level implementation that works on just function calls and the other relies on the support of SQL (a parser/lexer is currently being developed). As far as I know, txtSQL is VERY efficient in how it handles its data and the way in which it is handled has also almost never caused any major concerns (data loss is rare). txtSQL does not require any outside plugins to operate, it's in the ballpark of "plug and play" (with a few exceptions of course). But most importantly, txtSQL is an opensource project (listed under Sourceforge), licensed under the GNU, which means that it's totally free of charge and will remain as such forever.
Backup outputs a copy of a MySQL database in sql format directly to your web browser.
You can either backup all tables within the database or chose to just backup specific tables. Simply run this script, copy the output, paste it into plain text file and save it for future use.

BackupZip creates a .gz zipped backup of a MySQL database on demand. You can either backup all tables within the database or chose to just backup specific tables.
Used with cron and an automated ftp download, you can completely automate database backups! If you don't have access to cron, setup a reminder or scheduler to run this script daily or weekly via your web browser and download the zipped files via FTP when convenient.

This class works under PHP4/PHP5 and all MySQL Versions from V3.x and newer. It features an easy-to-learn API and an error-management which includes auto-sending of EMails in case an DB error occured. The archive comes with complete documentation and some examples to show basic usage of this class.
Oracle Information Site allows DBAs to view the most important informations about all configured Oracle databases. Support for Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g (untested) is integrated. OIS gives the DBA many informations like
- Instance Configuration parameter
- Running processes with detail view
- Redo Log and Rollback segment usage
- Tablespaces
- Overview of all defined DBMS_JOBs
- Memory Usage
- Basic tuning views
- General instance statistics
- Very basic schema browser
In addition OIS has a small integrated management interface which allows DBAs to have an overview of all DB machines with saveable comments. Finally a basic table exporter is also integrated.
To use OIS you'll need PHP4 or newer with OCI8 extension build in, and of course at least one Oracle instance. As OIS reads Oracle's internal tables it require DBA rights to access them, else OIS won't work.
This class allows to develop applications using Oracle 8i or higher. It supports bind variables, IN/OUT variables for PL/SQL procedures and BLOB support. Additionally it features an easy-to-learn API and an error-management which includes auto-sending of EMails in case an DB error occured.
The class works with PHP4 or PHP5 and requires the OCI8 extension to be enabled in your PHP.
